Maroubra
One of the most sought-after addresses for its quieter surrounds, this suburb is getting increasingly more popular with the student population despite its slightly furthur proximity from the University of New South Wales campus. One reason would most definitely be the array of accommodation options with the recent developments of more tall apartments with new and modern furnishings that comes with some apartment units.
Most of the land area is for housing and are occupied by families, or young couples, single working adults and students. But the main draw is the great convenience of having supermarkets (Coles), markets that sell fresh seafood, meats and fruits, Asian grocery stores and many speciality shops at your doorstep.
Pacific Square Shopping Center, which is located at Maroubra Junction, the main shopping areas in the district, serves the local community well with everything it needs for daily essentials, basic products and services. It is still under construction to include more shops and an additional European discount supermarket, Aldi, which is expected to be completed by this year.
